Back Home!

I got home from Girl's Camp late last night...after two a.m. I was soooo tired as we had woke up at 4:00 a.m. that morning for our hike. Plus, I never sleep good while I'm camping. Besides being tired, I had a great time. We had a lot of fun floating the river (we hit a few rapids), hiking, and being silly with the girls. The girls were so fun this year. It was good to be with them. I feel so lucky to be in Young Womens. I loved YW and Girls Camp when I was a teenager. Now, it's so fun to be with the girls as a leader. I really love both programs. The others YW leaders are really fun and we had a great camp committee. It was a fun time. This year I came home thinking it would be okay to have a daughter. Like I said earlier, last year I came home feeling like all boys is the only way to go.

Jeff did great with the boys. They had a fun time with Daddy. Jeff had to be to work pretty early this morning, but the boys were kind enough to sleep in until 8:00 this morning. So, I got to "sleep in" a little bit. It felt great to take a long, hot shower this morning.

Girls Camp!

I'm off to Girls Camp this afternoon. I am finally ready to go. It is is so overwhelming to try to get myself ready and to make sure the boys will be taken care of while I'm gone. Jeffrey is taking two days off work to have some quality time with the boys. Good luck JP!!! I'll let you all know how girls camp goes. Last year I went and I came home telling JP how glad I was that we had all boys ( I had found out the day before girls camp that baby #3 was a boy). Anyways, I'll see if through all the teenage girl hormones and issues if I feel that way again this year. Wish me luck.

Matching outfits...coincidence!

I ran a half marathon today right here in our own town. No travel time was nice for an early start time. Here I am right after I finished the race. My running buddy/good friend, Amanda, was there to greet me. Amanda and I didn't plan our matching outfits. Great minds think alike I guess. We started running together a while ago and she definitely makes it fun and enjoyable for me. Of course, Jeff and the boys were waiting for me too at the finish line. They also cheered me on at a few other spots throughout the race. Jeff's so good to be so supportive and keep track of the kids while I run and always be there even though it means getting the boys up really early and out the door. This was a really small race in terms of number of participants. It was a pretty hilly run too...lots of uphill. I'm more of a downhill runner. It was fun though. After the race, there was a breakfast at the park. We had fun eating breakfast with friends Kirk and Jen. Jen also ran the Half. It is fun to talk to her about running. She has been running a lot longer than me and she's really good.

American Flag French Toast for Breakfast

Here's what we had for breakfast this morning. Braeden has been looking forward to this for a while. He loves berries. This is Jeff's favorite breakfast food. A week ago I made German pancakes and Braeden commented that it didn't look at all like a German flag. I'm not sure how he made that connection, but thought that it was an interesting comment.

Aren't we so patriotic

Here's out little family. We really are proud to be Americans! I think we live in the best country ever. God bless the USA!

Happy 4th of July

We had a fun Fourth of July Eve at the fireworks. We have been going to the same place for fireworks for the past four years. It's the perfect place because it's on a golf course so there's plenty of room and parking. We had a big fun group of people and went early enough to eat and let the kids play.

Braeden swim lessons

Braeden just completed a session of swim lessons. He had fun and did pretty good. He is gradually getting over his fear of putting his face underwater.

Carter's my big, over-grown baby

Sometimes Carter gets into baby mode with Tanner. He also likes to get in the Saucer. He just looks like a big, over-grown baby.

New Dresses

So, I stopped in to Costco on Friday to pick up a few things. It's amazing how just a few bulk items costs a fortune--diapers, wipes, and formula really add up. That's a whole other story I guess. Anyways, sometimes Costco has outside vendors come in to do a road-show. As I was walking by the clothing section, I saw tons of women flocked by a big dress display. So, I stopped to look. I ended up buying these two dresses. I've had two pairs of shoes that have just been waiting for the right dress to come along. So, they are happy now too! Anyways, the dress company is called Mikarose and they specialize in modest dresses. So, if you want to check out their website it's www.mikarose. com I lucked out because the prices at Costco were about $15 less per dress than what's listed on their website. Anyways, I haven't bought a new dress for a long time. Well, I bought a few maternity dresses last summer, but that definitely doesn't count!
